I love a birthday festival - especially when it is mine....

Those who know me well have always been encouraged to participate in my birthday. I love birthdays and celebrations and pomp and ceremony.

Some years ago Bella commented that “no one seemed to be able to turn their birthday into week-long festivals”,  like I do. I have always tried to maintain and improve on the tradition every year.

This year was a little quieter than other years – due to a number of circumstances, but never the less I managed to stretch it out and enjoy……..But I was overwhelmed with the warm wishes via cards, messages and Facebook messages I received.

A theme did develop – Remember a while ago I talked about herb scissors?

Well,  some newer versions were received..…..

Swedish version (thanks A & A)

French version (thanks Meggsi)

I received a wonderful book and jar of exotic spices - Mayan Chilli Chocolate (bless R & R). The most beautiful smelling soap and candle (always exquisite selection P & T) and the most wonderful tea cosy (thanks Bella).

AND – can you believe it – the Slut’s Cookbook has returned to my bookshelves.  After reading my post: A & A tracked down a copy.

And I am so happy to say I am enthralled by the philosophy of this cookbook again. It is so ‘80’s and so much giggle factor!

Happy tastings …..and I hope your birthday in 2013 was fun or will be!!

Ey dere Debs, is I, de kimbolosa ere.
I zee you ave de new erb cudders for your birday, ope it was de appy day.
Ay, does Swedish Grasmaros is der cool erb cudders, deys very good for makin de liddle erby bits for de recipees.
De Swedish use dees on der long winter nights to cut der smallest of da erbs, not much else to do in da dark maysbe.
Dey use de erbs in de sauna I ears.
And de french erb cudders, well deys looks like de same whones Mr. Myagi used for de cudding of does old liddle erb trees in de Karate kids, many years ago.
Ee used de erbs in is wax on wax off, erbal cahr polish, I ears.
If dey is, you can use dees for all sorts of erbs, and deys works on de small trees and de toe and fingers nails too.
An Debs, da erb pot cover is good, but is de wrong colours, what appens to the green, reds and de yellow, is dey faded?
But ey. Tez can put is dreads and is mo up in dare wen e works out in de patch, chasing de wild wobbly.
Of course de wool, should keep der erb vibes from de pot in, and make is ed feels da very mellow.
An Debs, I opes dere is some good erb cookie an de cakes to make in dat sluddy cooks book too.
I ear dat de erb cookie classes ar all de rage.
Haves also seend you ave ad de operation. so opes you is to begettin de bedder soons Girl. ............. kimbo
