Time to give it a go

I met the son of a very dear friend earlier this year when I was passing through London, on my way to a work meeting in Geneva.  I knew about him but had never actually met him before.  I took him some “Tim Tams” from Aus and I think that clinched the deal that we would become mates.

He work in a restaurant in London and of course I went and ate there. Very, very very delicious. So to make a very long story short for the sake of anyone reading this ……he has agreed to be my very first guest presenter at Plough Creek Cooking School, if I am going to seriously consider realising my fantasy. Given that I am still between professional gigs as far as my “day job” goes, after considerable discussion Tez and I think we need to start working on Plough Creek Homestead so that "she earns her keep"!

So here I am starting to work up a business plan for Plough Creek Cooking School. Lloyd will be in Australia in December and he has agreed to do some classes at Plough Creek Homestead . Woohoo! Now I need to really start to work this out.

I now have the first serious contender for participating in my PCH vision. I better turn my creative energy to giving this dream a go.

Moment of Clarity

Jumping in the car with Tez and leaving Canberra on 30 June marked a whole new chapter for us. I had achieved a goal set for me in my role as CEO of RCNA by overseeing the successful unification of RCNA and The College of Nursing (with others, of course). It was time to come home and think about "what next"? We were heading home to live together again - full time. For the first time in my life I did not have my next job lined up. It is now just over four weeks since then and people are asking me what I think I will do next. I have so many ideas. When my imagination starts to crank up I feel so liberated and think maybe it is time for a whole new direction and be very courageous and go in a new direction.  Then I gasp for breath with anxiety and think OMG, I have no job and a mortgage to pay - I need to find my next job and automatically go back to looking for something in the safe territory of Health. The sector and working life I have known my whole career.

Waiting for a moment of clarity! DC
