Happy faces, places & spaces  #21 …. 1980’s

Recently on Facebook someone sent round a video clip of songs and “pop icons” from 1984. It was so cool watching and recalling the clips, songs and pop icons.  In fact, after watching it I recall thinking to myself, that there was only one artist among them that I was not really into, at the time. The rest I adored.

When you watch things like that you start to remember other stuff … I started to think about life and living in the 1980’s.

In retrospect it was actually a rather cool time. I lived in some great places – particularly a terrace house in Gore Street, Fitzroy. There are a few amongst you that may have memories of that time, in that house!

It was a great time for big shoulder pads, big taffeta bows and even bigger hair.

In many ways it was possibly one of my best decades – work, living and all round great memories were created.

David Addison was born and introduced the world to the cheeky smirk of Bruce Willis. Jack T Colton was the dude I wanted to end up in a chapter with me. And awesome movies were made.

But, the music… Annie, Madonna, Cyndi, Whitney, Tina, Kate, Sade and Gloria. Of course there were the guys as well – Stevie, Michael, Paul Weller (Style Council), George, Prince and so the list goes on.

I have some of the best photos albums of fun that happened in those years. Lots of fabulous clubs, pubs and eating places. Fun times shared with awesome friends and I was very very single and I had a good time!

Life is millions of moments creating memories along the way.

Some walk by night, Some walk by day, Something is sweeter, When you meet ‘long the way …
Moonlighting stranger, who just met along the way.
